UST returnees 2012 - 2013

UST surely missed the presence of this 3 players who were out last season for various reasons. It is nice to see that UST will have a chance to compete even if we did not land any "bluechip recruits".

The Savior ?

Aljohn Mariano will be returning and from the looks of it his game has not been affected by his previous injury which sidelined him last season. Basing from the Off-season tournaments he has joined as part of the UST Tigers he will be Tigers primary Offensive Option. This guy can score either by penetrating the shaded area or by scoring from the perimeter. When this guy is in the zone UST will be difficult to beat. Also the good thing is that this kid can also defend.


Also set to return is Father Ed Daquioag he has shown flashes of brilliance when he was given playing time by coach Pido. This guy is like a Mariano Clone can score through drives and jumpers. Hopefully he will be healthy when the season starts.

Another key returnee for Coach Pido is Clark "Tata" Bautista. I am overly excited that Tata will be returning for UST after missing last season due to academics, his timely 3 Point bombs were surely missed by the UST faithful every time Jeric Teng jacks up those threes. It's nice to see that Tata is still "that" deadly (check this and this) we surely missed his scoring last season. There were times that this blogger thinks that if ever Tata were around last season UST would have made the Finals.

But it's no use crying over spilled milk. 2012-2013 might be our season. What ever happens I will still be cheering GO USTE!
